Iain Shipley

Biography

Iain is a commercial Barrister with an extensive range of experience in civil disputes with a focus on commercial disputes, insolvency, consumer credit, and property disputes.

Prior to transferring to the Bar in 2019, Iain worked as a Solicitor and Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings), appearing in the County Court on a daily basis in a wide variety of cases including fast track trials, mortgage and leasehold disputes and insolvency petitions. Iain now regularly appears in the County Court and High Court.

Iain is also a qualified South African attorney, having completed his training contract at a large commercial law firm where he worked on a variety of commercial matters involving opinions on company law, contract law, and public procurement law, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and the establishment and restructuring of South African companies.
