Biography

James is a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution team at Burnetts, a northern regional law firm with offices throughout Cumbria and in Newcastle He is recognised as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500. He has experience and expertise in professional negligence claims acting against other solicitors and professional advisors. Recent cases include acting for an engineering company against its former solicitors for failing to register its leasehold interest in its business premises, acting for luxury property developers in the Lake District in a three party claim against their architect arising from a design failure which led to significant and repeated water ingress and damage, and advising a property development company in London on a claim against its architect for design breach arising from failures in design of a fire repression and safety system in a residential complex.
